Deborah “Deb” Lakies is a longtime Goodrich resident and dedicated community leader. A 1973 graduate of E.A. Johnson High School in Mt. Morris, Deb went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan–Flint. She enjoyed a successful career in retail management before retiring in 2020.

Deb moved to Goodrich in 1990 with her husband, Dennis Lakies, and became the first woman to join the Goodrich Lions Club in 1995, following the board’s historic vote to welcome women members. Since then, she has proudly served in a variety of leadership roles and continues to be a passionate advocate for service and inclusion.

Outside of the Lions Club, Deb is an active member of Open Door United Methodist Church in Burton. She enjoys retirement life by reading, walking, fishing, dining out with friends, playing euchre, and giving back to the community she loves.

Ben Eles grew up in Northern Ontario, Canada, and made the move to Michigan in 2000. He and his family settled in Goodrich in 2016 and quickly became active members of the community. In 2019, Ben joined the Goodrich Lions Club and has served as Club Secretary since 2021. He currently also holds the role of Vice President.

Professionally, Ben is an engineer with General Motors, where he applies his analytical skills and problem-solving mindset to complex technical challenges. His attention to detail and commitment to service have made him a strong leader within the club.

Ben and his wife, Amanda, have two children, ages 10 and 12. As a family, they enjoy being involved in the Goodrich community and supporting local initiatives.

Glenn A. Sturm is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 37 years of experience in accounting, finance, and taxation. He is deeply committed to helping individuals and businesses enhance their financial performance through strategic guidance and personalized service.

A skilled leader, communicator, and problem-solver, Glenn is known for his dedication to excellence and his client-first approach. His extensive professional background and steady leadership make him a valued asset to both his clients and the Goodrich Lions Club.

Outside of his professional life, Glenn enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and listening to music. He is also an active and engaged member of the local community.
