What We Do
Serving the Goodrich, Michigan community since 1963.
The Goodrich Lions Club is a proud chapter of Lions Clubs International, a global network of volunteers dedicated to serving their communities. Founded in December 1962 and officially chartered on March 2, 1963, our club has been a cornerstone of community service in Goodrich for over 60 years
A Message from the Goodrich Lions Club
The Goodrich Lions Club is excited to begin a new chapter of service to our community—without the burden of supporting and maintaining our former facility on M-15. That building, constructed with volunteer labor and generous donations, served the Lions well for many years, and we remain deeply grateful to our charter members for their vision and dedication.
As we move forward, we proudly stand by our motto: "We Serve." Our mission remains the same—to support, uplift, and strengthen the Goodrich community in any way we can.
Our Mission
We are committed to improving the quality of life in our community through various service projects and initiatives. Our members work tirelessly to address local needs and support global causes, embodying the Lions' motto: "We Serve."
“This club isn’t just about service—it’s about showing up for your neighbors, building a stronger community, and creating a legacy of kindness. The impact we’ve made together over the years is something I’m incredibly proud of, and I’m grateful every day to be part of it."
— Dave Jones, Goodrich Lions Club Member
Our Community Projects and Events
Annual Christmas Tree Sale: For over four decades, we've sold fresh-cut Michigan Christmas trees, with proceeds supporting our community service projects. In 2024 we transition the tree sale to selling Christmas Tree ornaments that are hung on the Downtown Goodrich Christmas Tree.
Holiday Food Baskets: In partnership with the National Honor Society, we assemble and deliver food baskets to families in need during the holiday season.
Downtown Christmas Decorations: Each year, we light up M-15 and the streets of Downtown Goodrich with festive holiday decorations.
Community Clean Up:
Each spring, around Earth Day, the Goodrich Lions Club leads a Community Cleanup to help keep our village beautiful. Volunteers of all ages come together to pick up litter, clean public spaces, and show pride in our town. It's a great way to give back, enjoy the outdoors, and work side-by-side with neighbors to make a visible difference in Goodrich.
Scholarships: We award three annual $1,000 scholarships to local high school students and provide funds for band and choir uniforms .
Community Improvements: Our projects have included developing the Village Commons Park, resodding baseball diamonds, and supporting the creation of local soccer fields .
Annual Lucky Duck Derby Race: Each summer during the Goodrich Festival, the Goodrich Lions Club hosts the Lucky Duck Derby Race—a fun-filled, family-friendly event where hundreds of rubber ducks race down Kearsley Creek! Community members “adopt” ducks for a chance to win prizes, with all proceeds supporting local service projects. It’s a highlight of the festival and a great way to support a good cause while cheering on your lucky duck!
